Dubai’s culture and religion are firmly embedded in its festivals and celebrations. Over the years, Dubai has been known as the hub for celebrations. Whether it is a small event or a big one, entertainment and enjoyment are at its high. That’s the reason, with 365 days of celebrations that attract millions of tourists from across the continents and making their stay in Dubai a memorable and enjoyable.

Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF)

Festivals & events in Dubai continue round the year. Every year, in January the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) kicks off under the banner “One World….One Family”. Bringing with it an array of discounts, prizes, fireworks, competitions, fun and entertainment. The DSF not only attracts the local people but attracts tourists from all over the world. Launched in 1996 as an initiative by Dubai Government to promote trade exchange, but over a period of time, the DSF expanded and developed to a massive celebration.

Dubai Marina Street Festival

This year marks the 6th anniversary of the Dubai Marina Street Festival which started in 2010. Back then the festival was much smaller with only a few acts performing at one location. This year the festival is still bigger than the previous street festival with 40 acts performing at nine locations along 2 kilometres of the Dubai Marina promenade. The festival welcomes acts from all over the world. Over 500 shows in 10 days from the world’s top international street theatre talent. There is something for everyone with uniquely different styles of shows that will engage, entertain and make the whole family laugh. So check the schedule of the events and plan accordingly, so that you don’t miss any of the events. Dubai Food Festival

Dubai Food Festival has become a platform for people across Dubai and UAE to connect over their love of food with its signature calendar of events and irresistible promotions. Dubai International Jazz Festival

UAE Desert Challenge Festival

If you are a crazy bike and car race lover. Here is the biggest rally in the Middle East. The rally that is a part of the FIA Cross Country, starts off in Abu Dhabi and finishes in Dubai. The duration and enjoyment last for five days. People across the world come here to participate in this rally.

Dubai World Cup Festival

The world’s richest horse race is hosted every year in Dubai and the winning prize is of USD $10 million dollars. With the fastest horses across the world taking part, best jockeys and trainers take their own credit. The race takes place at the Nad Al Sheba racecourse that is an atmospheric venue with a massive crowd.

Dubai International Film Festival

For the theatre and film lover who want to celebrate and make a mark in this field. The Dubai International Film Festival gives an opportunity and encourages young volunteers to participate and work for the event that is held in the prestigious venue of Madinat Jumeirah. If you are an art and theatre lover, make sure you don’t miss this opportunity which is held in the month of November every year in Dubai.

National Day Festival

Dubai National Day is a yearly festival to honour the Emirates freedom from Great Britain and commemorating the formation of the UAE. Celebrated on the second of December every year it is an opportunity to see large portions of the city’s participating in the mega National Day Festival, which is open to the general population

Eid

The cities of the UAE celebrate with parties and feasts for several days, to mark the end of the auspicious holy month of Ramadan. Both visitors and locals take part and share in the spoils as Abu Dhabi and Dubai throw social events and parties.
